I’ve only gotten a couple of these style emulations done so far, but I have to get back to work on Poppy for the time being, so I’ll push the rest of them for later.
These two are in the style of Pop’n Music, and (the very much requested) Akira Toriyama.
On today’s Poppy update, some filler photos from the Possum family photo album.
See you guys on Wednesday.
I was bored, so I picked a few pokemon out of a random generator and made some goofy anthros out of them.
All I want is a new Star Fox game that just ignores every game after Star Fox 64.
Personally, I prefer the lyrical stylings of MC SkatKat myself, but Sloop Pupp’s definitely got some solid works too.
Hey followers, do any of you live in Central Florida or perhaps plan to be in the state over the next month?
Because if so, you’re formally invited to come drop by the Morean Arts Center in downtown St. Pete (719 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL) to see the work that I and many other talented artists contributed to the Storytellers show.
There’s going to be an opening reception with catered food and drink on this Saturday, March 8th, and the show will continue to run until the 20th of April. Admission is absolutely free, and the entire public is invited to come see the galleries.
Other artists on display are Diane Elmeer, Carol Dameron, Stuart Asprey, Amy Lee, I-Ling Eleen, and the thesis works of this year’s graduating seniors of the Pinellas County Center for the Arts.
I’m very excited to have had the opportunity to have my art featured like this, and I hope that some of you guys can have the chance to show up! And If you can’t, don’t worry, I’ll also have the artwork up for display on the Poppy website shortly after the show concludes.
(That being said, please keep in mind that this is a formal art gallery, so do be cool, act professionally, and ask for “Ian Everett” instead of “Morbi.” And if you happen to see me, understand that while I’m happy to answer questions about my art, I am also a very quiet and shy person in real life.)
More information about the show can be found at the Morean’s official website.
I had a very sad dream about Laika while I was napping and I thought I’d make it canon to supplemental materials for Poppy.
Laika was a Floran astronaut sent to gather data from Skyhenge, a strange structure at the edge of the universe. During approach, her shuttle’s propulsion system malfunctioned and the teleportal system linking back to Flora was damaged, leaving her stranded on Skyhenge.
Ever the upbeat worker, Laika kept in touch with her research team via superluminal communication and sent cheerful realtime video footage of her findings even as her resources drained. She continued to do this all the way up until her craft’s oxygen supply finally ran out, 46 days after impact.
Took a break to do some doodles. Drew a few Uni-kitties for Junk and DCS’s Franny because you know I’m all about those tiny imp ladies.
wait, so all this time, she’s “possum” not because standard funny animal regulations, but rather because she was adopted by a cat family with the improbable surname of “Possum”?!I GUESS THE SECRET’S OUT
So I was designing Poppy’s adoptive sisters while I laid out this one painting and this happened
